I am thinking about writing it. I have to talk with some friends. But I might be able to write it and use a MYSQL or Postgres database back end. Maybe it can be integrated with forum software.

Just use Excel and make your own. It’s tailored to your personal needs.

Excel is a banned and insecure product, anyway.

Banned by whom? Never had any problems with Excel. It’s a great spreadsheet.

No - and it is banned at work and in the house. It is insecure. It is way off topic for this forum, but I would be dead before using Excel or any MS Office products.

Who cares dude, the whole world uses it. You don't have anything that needs protection. Nobody is coming to steal you little coin collection.

You gleaned this from your extensive experience in the corporate world? I don't care what your millennial opinion on the subject is, just look at the scoreboard. More people use Excel than any other spreadsheet software.

    It runs the world!!!!

I used to create and write "flat", front end databases, in Excel, and relational databases in Access for companies and individuals. Of the thousands created, I never had a client with a problem.
Another case of using someone elses thread for one of your agendas

Excel is so used in the world and especially in the US, almost every company you use, buy from or have business dealings with, uses Excel. Excel is a spreadsheet not a database. Excel is used to create databases. It is a very powerful program.

    As per Wikipedia:
Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet developed by Microsoft for Windows, macOS, Android and iOS. It features calculation, graphing tools, pivot tables, and a macro programming language called Visual Basic for Applications.

    As per Wikipedia:
In computing, a database is an organized collection of data stored and accessed electronically from a computer system. Where databases are more complex they are often developed using formal design and modeling techniques.

    As per Wikipedia:
Since its initial release in 1985, Microsoft Excel has grown to become a necessity for companies everywhere. It's the most widely used spreadsheet software among the business community, and has been a robust tool for simple analysis and budgeting.

Yes there are other programs that do the same but there isn’t a program that hasn’t been hacked at some point. If you’ve banned it you’re sure missing out on some great computing.

I used to work for Microsoft. I also worked for Caterpillar and the US Post Office. Both are large companies, Cat being worldwide and they used nothing but Excel. It is amazing what they can do by using Excel.

If you’re driving, your car uses Excel. So does your bank account. Microsoft Excel is as basic and worldwide as dirt.

Well, no. Definetely not as a matter of fact. Wikipedea functions as an advert for whoever is interested. Never trust wikipedea with anything important.

It has been banded from many offices and businesses and they don't even use windows as a platform, and are migratign to Android et al

Here is one of the reasons why

BTW not since 1997, when I was born, have I ever touched a Microsoft product. So, if I write something, I will right it without Excel. You can write whatever you want ~~fini on this stupid topic.

So don't use Office 365. Load an unsupported version of Office, like 2003. Works just as well. Excel has hardly changed since Win '95
