This year, I have had more questionable dealing with the Mint. I don't usually have any problems buying from them, but this year, there have been more questionable sales. I don't know what you, my friends, have had the problems that I had, and maybe its because I am going to be 74 in December. It seems as if about every nice coin is sold out in under 5 minutes. My first problem was getting an American Silver Eagle Proof Coin T-1. I did, finally, get one, then the T-2, of which I got one. I lucked out, and got the Morgan Dollar (D) and Morgan Dollar (S). I couldn't figure out that if the Mint says they are going to produce "X" many coins, why are mine backordered a month and a half. The only American Gold Eagle I could get was the T-2 1/10th Ounce Gold Coin. (I've tried to buy a T-1 online, but the sellers have jacked their prices. Then, I was "lucky" enough to buy the American Eagle One Ounce Silver Reverse Proof Two-Coin Designer Edition. It showed up "ordered" and the charge to my VISA was made, but the very next day, it disappeared. It now shows as "Processing". My last purchase was and is the beautiful American Liberty 2021 High Relief Gold Coin. It showed up today, as Backordered. Thankfully, one of CT's members told me that they won't actually charge my VISA until the coin is shipped. I hope. This kind of reminds me of when I was young, I use to love to watch the Lone Ranger, until I learned that Quimo Sabe (not good with the spelling) means "Who knows." And Tanto means stupid. I just couldn't watch a show when the heroes are "Who Know" and Stupid. I kind of feel like Tanto and the Lone Ranger when I deal with the Mint.
What does Kemo Sabe mean in English? The Yale Book of Quotations defines the word as “faithful friend or trusty scout,” and this is the most common interpretation. What does Kee Mo Sabi mean? Ultimately derived from gimoozaabi, an Ojibwe and Potawatomi word that may mean "he/she looks out in secret", it has been occasionally translated as "trusty scout" (the first Lone Ranger TV episode, 1941) or "faithful friend".

The only problem I ever had was I did not receive the so called free W coin with one of my purchases. No one ever answered my complaint filed with the mint either. Therefore with low quality control, poor looking coins that are overpriced and terrible customer service I buy very little if at all this year.
Tonto...played by actor Jay Silverheels in the LR series...occasionally would see him in other roles but usually as the real Indian that he was.
When surrounded by hostile warriors, and going down to his last bullet, the Lone Ranger asked for Tonto’s help……….The ever reliable Tonto said, “What you mean want help white man”………….
I'm not great in the Germany Language, but we lived in German 65-67 and watched German television that had the Lone Ranger. When Tonto went up to the Lone Ranger, he would raise his right hand and say (with my poor spelling in German), something like this..."Vee Gates". I know that it is not right, but we really enjoyed watching American shows in German. When we lived in Germany the first time, '54-57. We had a German maid and she taught us to speak in German by telling us fairy tales in German. I really learned to love the German People...however, hated the French people. The believed that DeGaulle actually was the one that arranged for D-Day and that they won the War for us poor, poor Americans. The French people treated us poorly. Long story about why I disliked the French citizens.
Yes....(vee gates) is how it's pronounced and if I remember my high school German classes properly, it's spelled ( wie gehts ), which means "how's it going". (gehen is the root verb of "to go". There's another similar expression "Was ist los" which means "what's up?" or "What's going on?". We have an American member living in Germany who could probably expound on this much better than my high school German from 1969 and 1970 can do. @Seattlite86
I believe it's actually "wie geht's?", which is an informal contraction for "wie geht es ihnen?". So there's an apostrophe. "Es" means "it", so direct translation is "how goes it?". My high school German was 40+ years ago though. Which has nothing to do with how poor the US Mint customer service is.
WTH? From a post about dealing with buying from the mint, to a language lesson? I stopped dealing with the mint long ago, so hope you fair better in the future.
You should have been more persistent. Same thing happened to me, and after some paperwork, they got a 'w' to my doorstep.
I enjoy reading from the many entries on Coin Talk. Some times (Maybe even a lot of times) I read an entry and find that I'm not as smart as I thought I was. Each entry in each thread has a great deal to teach us, not only coins, but courtesy. I have been humbled a great deal from this thread and I appreciate all of the entries. I have only been collecting since about 2008, which is only about 11 years. Many of you have been collecting for many decades and I find that the information given is informative and direct. I have started reading more and more about coins and currency. Members of Coin Talk, for the most part, want to teach and help us in our drive to collect coins. Websites such as Coin Talk have been set up to help us become better in an effort to help those of us that are relatively new, and I thank you. Now, my question. I saw the latest 2021 American Liberty High Relief Gold Coin and I was tremendously impressed by the subject of the Reverse and the Obverse, but when I saw the price, it scared me. That is the most I would spend on any coin. I bought the 2017 American Liberty and was underwhelmed by the subjects and the coin, but I bought it anyway. However, the 2021 American Liberty Gold Coin is very expensive. What do you think? Is it worth the money? I have watched several programs concerning selling coins as well as ebay. I have seen some of the 2021 American Liberty selling for almost $5,000. I did a reminder and somehow, I got the Order Acknowledgement, and then the Order Summary. I got the same messages concerning the 2021 Two-Coin Silver American Eagle on one day and taken off the next day. I'm sure that will happen to the American Liberty Gold Coin. I saw in another thread that the first charge was to make sure the financing is there. My VISA will expire the end of October and I got a new one this past week. I updated my new VISA information. I just hope there's no problem. Back to the American Liberty, I think I might just get it, if they don't screw things up and see what people are willing to pay for one. If not, I'll put it with my other gold junk (that's a joke.) Thanks for all your info.
I take it that you don't believe that DeGaulle thought he won the war and that the French citizens are rude. I lived there and we had to live in a french house because the military didn't have enough housing for their soldiers. I've gone to stores and been denied service because I was an American. Is that what you don't believe?
That was your personal experiences, I take it? Pity. Any exposures I've had with the French have always been cordial and friendly. As for Sir Charles, I think he was a very proud and arrogant man. Other than that, I don't think his contributions to the war effort (WWII) amounted to much
My gut feeling is the premiums on it will come down next year. Its a beautiful coin but the premiums on the series are very hard to swallow. They arent exactly flying off the shelves in the after market which leads me to believe those premiums will come back down
