Interesting...thought I might learn the where and how that all these "submissions-in-waiting" (to be graded) are stored for all those weeks/months...but didn't see it mentioned anywhere. By "where" I mean in general...like the attic or basement (would have to be a BIG one), or maybe at a different facility, with "gofers" making coin runs with storing the new stuff after arriving and retrieving the sitting coins as needed/to be graded, etc. Gotta be an interesting scenario however it's done...maybe next time. Wonder if they would hire a retired guy for some part-time grading...I mean, if they need the help and he could qualify...heck, why not...? They could save on full-time benefits and all...might also help to keep those fees down, too...! Thanks for sharing...again, quite interesting.
Sorry, folks...it did it again...that pesky multiple-post glitch. Wish someone in the CT IT dept would prioritize trouble-shooting (and shooting) that bug).
It ain't me, bud...think I'd actually do something like that...??? I've asked them to look into it but never hear back (that I recall).
I could never work as a grader. I'd want to take home ever coin I looked at. Same goes for working at the mint or selling guns. LOL
I think it's on your end. Not saying it's you specifically, but I think the issue is on your end or has something to do with your connection, not CT, or we'd see it happening to a bunch of other people. Anyway, I removed the duplicate posts.
I often have double, triple and quadruple posts. I have found that by going into edit and deleting the content of one or more of them, and then refreshing the page seems to make them disappear
Thanks. I'd detete them myself if there was a way...tried to use the edit function thinking if I deleted the text it would delete all text in multiples...better than nothing...but that doesn't work. Sorry it's happening, regardless. That said, it doesn't happen for any other postings or whatever I do/post elsewhere, on any other site, forum, blog, etc...reason I didn't think on my end...plus it has happened to others, here, if not as often or in quite so many multiples. I get two or three multiples of "likes" from others quite often...from two different members just tonite. Even if it were to be something on my end, I have no idea how to fix it or when it's going to happen.
I fear that a coin grader needs good eye sight, I wear thick glasses but I have many doubts about my ability to grade coins, though in the last 5 years I've learned to identify obviously cleaned or polished coins. So I got that going for me! Oddly enough, I'm really good at my job, and it is detail oriented, but those details are in software and regulation. I revel in it. I wish I could assess coins better.
I think knowing the process and training that coin graders get would go a long way to understanding the grading outcomes and help manage expectations.
