So I participated in my fist live auction! It was very nice but I was carried away as most coins were out of my league and bid on this Tiberius- deified Augustus tetradrachm which to be honest didn't have in mind to bid. I wanted some opinions on if 180 euro is a good price for it (it is a bit corroded but I know that most of the Roman tetradrachms are corroded, so maybe it's not that bad?). Also is there any good way to remove the horn silver that there is accumulated on the top of Tiberius head?
Thank you all for your help!

180 euro is a reasonable price for this coin, given the coin has some porosity.

In my opinion you can't remove horn silver without damaging the coin - this is silver chemically bonded to soil minerals. Anyway i think horn silver and toning adds to the coin's appeal.

That's a good coin, with a nicely centered reverse, at a good price. Does the 180 euros include the buyer's fee?

I agree that the horn silver and toning should be left alone. The somewhat porous surfaces plus these deposits make the coin look like an ancient.

No, with the buyers fee I think it goes around 210 euros.

That's still a very good price, I think, for this very scarce and popular type.
