1865 morgan doller

    hello everyone.i know someone with a 1865 morgan doller i saw yesterday.i know they are rare but he is asking 180.u.s dollers for it.it looks old and tarnished it is worn and its been used.does it have any value/is 180 dollers to much to purchase?thank you for any info

    i just called him up its a 1895 morgan doller.my mistake.is it worth 180?on a scale of 1 to 10 i would say its 8

    You are most likely dealing with a fake/copy. Anyway to snap a pic?

    i might be able to take a pic this after noon or tomorrow.it is in pretty good shape but its very black and tarnished.it is owned by a coindealer in ohio.i will try to take a pic but is 180 to much to purchase?he said it does not have a mint mark does that make a difference?

    Then I am certain without any hesitation that it is not genuine. This particular year (Philadelphia) only exists as a Proof, and would be worth tens of thousands of $$. It is also heavily counterfitted, as you can imagine.
