Remove me from your mailing list.

I've really been getting back into the hobby recently after a long hiatus.
I've bought quite a few coins on ebay. I'm incredibly frustrated with how much junk mail I receive from some of these coin dealers.
Is there anyway to make it stop besides waiting for the junk to show up and then emailing and asking to be removed from a mailing list?
To me, it seems like common sense not to send catalogs with the words "rare coins" all over them to my house. It is like an advertisement for thieves! And even if it wasn't, why do these people think that a simple purchase on ebay means we want their junk mail.
I get multiple pieces of it every week. Just venting I guess. But it seems flat out disrespectful to me.

Put them in the neighbors mailbox.
Or, write Not At This Address on the mailings and put it back in the mailbox with the flag up.

 

Or write "Moved. No Forwarding Address on the mailings and put it back in the mailbox with the flag up.

Make your annoyance somebody else's. I am a believer in pay it forward.

 

You're right! Call or send them a letter. I had a heck of a time to get the mint to stop sending me this junk! When you're online, it isn't necessary.

 

I've emailed 2 of them this week. Seems simple enough to ask to be removed from the mailing list. But I wish I could stop them before they ever get to my house.

And I wonder if I ever buy from those sellers again If I'll accidentally get added back to their list.

 

i get a booklet of coins for sale from a company i do biz with sometimes, never bugs me a bit and one day i may buy from them again

 

Ask them how they got your address? I suspect you will find it is a surprising source.

 

Bad thing to do. Being ex postal management you can be assured your carrier will think you moved. Then you’ll have all your mail returned to the sender.

It all depends on how that unwanted mail was sent. Just write REFUSED on it and put it in your mailbox or drop it at the post office on in a blue collection box. The carrier will know what to do with it. Too much can happen otherwise.

Stop buying from those companies. Call them up and tell them to remove you from their mailing list. Faster and best way to stop that mail from coming. If the company you’re buying from knows that you’re not going to buy from them they’ll stop sending up that information.

Unless you work for the post office you have no idea what can, does and would take place.

 

If it is email you are talking about it is very difficult to stop. If you search anywhere on line for anything yo will get pop up ads from all of the major sites - Google, Amazon, eBay and all. "If you are looking for Stupid we have it on eBay".

 

They got my address from me buying their coins on ebay. Some of them under different names.

 

I mean physical mail that they're sending.
I have just been using email to contact them and ask them to stop.

 

I agree with you. Thanks for the info bout the blue collection box.
Contacting them by email and letting them know I'm not happy about it is what I've started doing.

 

That's odd. I've bought coins on ebay for years, and have never received a single piece of coin-related junk mail as a result.

I just started buying on ebay this past Spring. And several dealers I bought from starting flooding me with little catalogs within 2-4 weeks of my purchase.
There is one that I can't figure out. They must use a different name on ebay. But the catalog they send had a website, with a "Contact" link to email them, which I did.

Baloney. I can drop them in any box and put the flag up...even the mail box at the P.O. I have done it for the last 35 years.
The mailings usually are addressed to joe blytilflik or current resident. Which one moved?
The tip came from the Postal Manager. He had pretty sound reasons.
Nothing happens unless the yellow indices is logged.

Refused works, too, but doesn't pay it forward.
I used to pit the krap in a cheap envelope and since I had Permit #1, I would use the cheapest prepaid sorted rate and mail them back. They would have to pay postage due.
A lot of fun.

If there is a return envelope or card with postage paid, the business must pay postage. So, return the envelope with nothing in it and no return address. They will have to handle the mail (costs them labor) and pay the postage with absolutely no benefit to them. Now they pay both ways and get nothing.

Forget the email as it will be ignored. Make direct contact by a phone call.

 

No one should be going through your mail just trash it. People get spam mail all the time from things they don’t buy or support. Shred it once you get it if you want to

email is upper easy, just mark it as spam and you likely won’t see it again ever. Super easy to delete anyways.
