(Solved!) PCGS Label is Correct? or Not?

I found this 1921 peace dollar and have some questions I thought once the gold shield was moved from back to front that the holder had RFDI radio and the holder at bottom left had that cast into it, also I though the gold shield when moved to front the hologram on back no longer used the old type. Also this holder looks like the older thin pre secure holder not the later thicker one.

Also if coin does not have image when looking up and holder has no secure gold shield features why does it have the later gold shield on front but rest of holder looks pre gold shield?

Thanks! I guess the gold shield has been around almost 20 years according to the museum, just not all the features on the holders with them.

 

That looks like a Secure Plus Cert, which was the precursor to the Gold Shield. In looking on the Cert page it does show the old Secure plus scan. The information on the page in for a 1921 Peace Dollar graded MS65.
Secure Plus was introduced in 2010, so the shield has been around for 11 years.

Thanks I must of got confused I knew the coin was real and the dealer was a round table member being a legit listing so I hadn't realized they used the shield before under a different label that had me thrown way off

 

It seems the seller is reputable, but, $5,444 for 1921 MS65? I just looked at the latest Red Book (2019) and it lists the MS65 for $1,900. Has it jumped up that much since 2019?

 

They have gone up. I didn’t realize they’ve jumped so hi either.

The last 5 PCGS graded auctions have ranged in the low $3000 area with one selling for $7200. The last 5 NGC graded auctions ranged between $1560 to $4560 with one selling for $9000.

These auctions were held between 9/20 and 8/21.

I've got my Red Book in my bedroom. My office is in another building, so, I'm going to walk over there and see what the 2021 Red Book Says for the 1921 Peace Dollar. I, for one, would only pay face value for a Peace Dollar, but, I am sure there are those that would pay that much for it. I think I am going to buy gold instead. At least, they look like they are worth that much.

 

That figure sounds like a dream price. I know they have gone up but that is a very serious jump. I see Mr. Q has one of them Kahuna's also. Mine is called "she who must be obeyed or sleep in the barn"

makes me cringe when i remember selling all 4 i had back 35 years ago for 400.00 each, back then we did not use the numerical grading as of today, there was ms 60, 63, 65 and i think that was all..mine would have been about 66+ in todays standards, i sold 3 to bower and ruddy galleries for 400.00 each, and another at a coin shopw for 600.00..those and 2 standing lib quarters in what would be ms-68 today..i got 90.00 each from bowers for those, lol kicking myself in the butt eternally for selling these
