ZM- what is that? Has a Germanic, Lauer-spielmarke-ish vibe. Neat looking piece.

Ooh! A cityview spielmarke! I had one similar, once, I believe, but not so nice. Found mine in a bulk bag, of course.

@Nyatii- you know how to knock a fella out with those pix of your place. Absolutely stunning. Real "God's Country" stuff there.

That pic just dethroned the NC mountains pic I was using and became my new desktop wallpaper for the time being.

Well, you did mention leaves on coins, and I just found this in a roll of pennies I went through yesterday, so perfect timing.

And for what it is worth, but not coin related, Autumn means pumpkins. And since I will on occasion drink a beer, in a month or so Autumn will mean a craft pumpkin beer.

I'm in California - East SF Bay area - so I miss the changes that fall brings. I really miss lightening and thunder storms, which were a weekly event in southeastern Wisconsin, where I grew up. I enjoy fall because of Halloween - kids have a great time with it. Well, at least they used to, I'm not so sure about it these days.

In any case, just how much fun is this?

I don’t know why I failed to think about the ubiquitous Canadian cent. My mind went to the bullion Maple Leaf coins, but I forgot about the leaves on the cent!

    Excellent national symbol, Canada!

Easy trivia question: who can name another country that has a tree for its national symbol, on both its coins and its flag?

Belated reply- @Mountain Man- that would count as a lot of color down here. I love your mountains! I love mountains in general, though most of my personal experience with them is Appalachian. (Well, aside from the volcano we lived next to when I was a kid in Africa.)

Oh- I just thought of another coin with trees on it.

Somebody on Collectors Universe had, or has, a full-red, PCGS MS67 RD example of this type. Let me tell you, that was a sight to behold! I want an UNC someday. So far all the ones of this type I've owned have been average circulated examples like the one below. I've found one or two in bulk lots over the years.

A couple more with trees, but I have to say, trees don't appear to be a die engravers first choice.

Love the unicorn piece. I dug a Green River Whiskey token exactly like that while metal detecting, once. Another cool Spanish-American War-era sutler token came up from under the base of the same old tree. I have never conclusively ID-ed the latter. My attribution is a semi-educated guess.

"The Whiskey Without Regrets". Ha. I rather doubt that was true for a lot of folks.

That unicorn piece is Ron Landis work. It's the reverse of an old pre-GMM Renaissance Faire token.

    Thank you for the contest!
Sorry, I also live in the South...South Carolina to be exact and it is always hot and fall color here is a joke. Sooo, here's a pic from the internet that I've had for over 10 years...when I yearn for fall color, my mind goes here! fall 2.jpg
