That's a 1966 Irish 10 Shilling Easter Rising Commemoration coin. Looks to be XF or maybe even AU. 18.14 grams of .833 Silver and worth about $25-$45. Here's more info..... http://www.talismancoins.com/servlet/Detail?no=566 I found one on eBay for $20 plus $5 shipping that NGC called MS65. I suspect you paid much less and there were no shipping charges...
I must be going to the wrong flea markets. Since the internet has come out everyone can punch up a price of a nice shiney coin. So when i do find coins (usually bent or cleaned like silverware) there will be a nice MS-63 price stuck to it. After all the internet says its worth it.:goofer:
Thank for sharing! Thank you hiho!!!I guess my $2.00 was a good buy.???I thank you for the link too!!!!
Coins with Éire on them are from the Republic of Ireland. If they are Euro coins, they can be used in any country that uses the Euro as its currency. If it is from before 2002 they are no longer in use, as the Euro started being used on Janary 1st 2002.I Many Irish people would have kept some of the old coins and notes, so they are far from being a rare item and of any real value as a collector's item. There were 27 million of these copper-nickel Irish 10 pence coins minted that first year of the design and it may be worth up to about $1 depending on amount of wear and collector demand. You might also try a library for a copy of the Standard Catalog of World Coins for pictures, values and lots more interesting info. Google Search: Erie Coins 1966
I left London years ago (Born in Guys, raised in Bermondsey, now in the States), but I remember Lewisham having a good car boot sale (flee market) in the shipping center parking lot on Sundays. Damn, I can't believe I remembered to use the term "Car-boot sale"; LoL.
my 2 cents I no expert on crime but 90% of yard sale I been too It is folk moving or just selling thing's they do not want anymore. But I sure a few have stuff that is stole, like one was selling a real Dot Stop sign.
TCB-24-7 Well I was one of two cops in a city of 140,000 who worked property crimes followup, none of the other crimes you mentioned. So with 24 pawn shop type stores to watch and follow up on, we were stretched pretty thin. So yes I suggested victims who were INTERESTED to check avenues I didn't ALWAYS have time to do. Now that I am retired, I plan to attend the local flea market for my own personal gain.
