Just FYI. This is the picture that Shane Canup had, when I bought it from him. The recent seller shot it a bit bright. The coin is probably closer to this level than the recent photo. The reverse is front mounted in the holder.

I'll let you edit it yourself. I have extended your editing privileges on that post. Try it. You should see the "edit" button again now.

Any time you need to edit something after the time has expired, just use the "report" link at the bottom of the post you want to edit, and in the description of the report, say you want an edit extension. That way any moderator who's on duty will see your report. I did not initially notice your request here, because I'm on and off the forums.

Now, let me think on my scoring choices...

It was difficult for me to come up with these answers, voting based on the toning alone rather than the overall eye appeal or desirability of the coins in question. Did my best.

You'd have been better off asking me to compare these in a general eye appeal sense, rather than just about the toning.

    1945-S Nickel: 1.2
There's a hint of color there, but not much, and the mottled greyish streaky toning is a minor detraction.

    1963-D Cent: 1.5
Again, very subtle hints of color, but not much.

    1795 Dollar: 4.5
The toning is too subtle for "monster" status on that front alone, but oh, it's definitely sweet, and the coin itself is amazing. Though it might just be in the mid range for color on another type, to see this on an early dollar is very nice. It's also a subtle CircCam. A CircCam with delicate hints of pastel color? Best of both worlds! Gimme-gimme-gimme!

    1965 Cent: 5.5
A touch of owner bias in there, no doubt. But I think it's deserving.

    1914-D Cent: 4.5
Like the 1795 dollar, this one is not a monster based on the sole criterion of its toning, but it's definitely nice. I prefer more subtle pastel toning like this myself, most of the time. And on a key-date coin? Whoa, Momma. Bet that's a moon-money piece.

I'll give the 1883 a 5.0 based on the reverse color only.

Every time I return I look at my votes and want to change them.

I don't think voting in this thread is for me. Makes my head hurt. I'm too indecisive.

I'm happy to have visited and seen some opinions on my '65 birthyear cent, though.

Thanks! Now I know for the future.
And it did work out (I just edited it now).

If it's not for you, then there is nothing wrong with that. It is all for fun, so the idea is to just go for it based on how the coin appeals to you (your scoring was perfectly reasonable-it was slightly different than mine but that is expected as we have some overlapping preferences but then we diverge in other areas).

The one thing that I do ask for all is to at least score your own coin after all the comments have been made (as that has been how this thread has been since the beginning since the idea is that we can compare our own score vs the group).

I'm at 4.5 on this one, the toning is fantastic but lacks some of the pop that many bag toned Morgans exhibit. Also, I think the spotty toning on the obverse detracts a little and would prefer a completely white obverse.

Ok, I give it 4.9. Paul and Dennis hit it on the head. The reverse toning is exceptional. The obverse is blah at best. In fact, the spotty toning is a detractor. Were it not for the obverse (had it been just plain bright), it would have been a monster. I bought it for $225 in 2011 from Kryptonite. I sold it myself on eBay in 2017 for $445. It just resold for $800. So, not a high ticket sales history, due to the obverse.

Given Canup's pic, I'd say 4.3. A very pleasant coin.

Just sold this one earlier this month...

Anything with that level of emerald green coverage is a monster.

6.0. The colors are breathtaking. Blue bombshell Morgans that clean, and with even toning distribution equals monster to me. Looks like a high grade coin to me, also.

@expat was on deck to go next (with I believe the above coin).

So let's score both his coin and the Morgan of @Skyman
Then @delila1 can post one of his tomorrow evening.
I will update the summary afterwards.
