    IMO a lot of the early coins have been "retouched" (no one would actually clean a coin, would they). :rolleyes:

    Oops, I should have used the word "conserved".

    Lets see, a complete set from '09-'40 with a '09 VDB! Looks like we got a winner here! The condition of the coins don't matter.:headbang:

    I buy these all the time and don't pay over $6 or $7 for them.

    I buy these all the time and don't pay over $6 or $7 for them with no shipping, very common and always dogs.

    Lots of bidders and probably due to
    "SPECTACULAR COLLECTION!!!" per the seller. :smile
    What a shame that some probably unknowing individual that really may need the money blows it on that.

    I wouldn't call it a complete set without the D and S mints.

    There are tons of different kinds of "complete sets." Who says a date set isn't a "complete set." It all depends on how you define "complete."

    That said, this set clearly sold for way more than it was worth.
