I don't think it makes it to EF-40, but it is definitely better than a VF-20. I'll split the difference and call it VF-30. A very nice coin. It's probably worth somewhere in the $75 region.
Thanks I paid 50 and was pretty certain it was a good investment, I don’t plan to resale atm, but good to know I’m not upside down
Also her chest plate or chain meal or whatever is visible on coin it’s just hard to get a good pic in a vehicle lol
I always undergrade these coins. It looks like a VF-30 to me too, unless they get mean and called it "cleaned." The Grey Sheet says $50 to VF-20 and $80 for EF.
The pics are a little out of focus, but they're good enough. If you get a chance to take better pics, go ahead and post them to this thread. The chain mail is clearly visible in your pics, which is why a VF-30 was my grade. I really don't see any evidence of cleaning in these pics.... but anything is possible.
VF35 i think, the obverse is stronger than the reverse, and that costs you on the grading usually, I'd say the obverse is at least an extra fine 40, but I don't think it would grade that high. Nice coin! I love the SLQs. Here's the current occupant of that spot in my top set, they're mint pals, from back in the WW1 day!
