1939 s Jefferson just pmd?

    Last 9 in 1939. Probably just PMD, looks like something under the left side of the 9. It's way bigger than the other 9 as far as the circular part. The missing tail I'm guessing happened in the 60+ years it's been around. But I know you all will explain.     I think the 9 just took a hit! PMD IMO

    It definitely looks like PMD to me. I couldn't tell you what happened to it though, maybe someone tried to make it look like 1930 and did a horrible job? It could have just gotten squished in the right way and it caused the tail of the last 9 to spread out. I will defer to others as to what could have caused it, but I think it is PMD. I would personally still hold onto it though :D

    Just damaged but still a nice simi key date with around 6-7 million made.

    Was a tube of 40 at an antique warehouse yesterday, all 1939 S. Haven't gone through all of them yet, more to come.
