Greetings all it seems like there's a few issues with this 1970 d. I researched them and I always come up with the wrong answer LOL. particularly looking at the date maybe some doubling in it compared it with machine doubling looks different. Then check out the I in Liberty. Could it be an extra metal from the bottom of the I or did it take an environmental hit?? I don't see much on the reverse except maybe the r in America looks like the loop extended between the r. As always professional help as welcome thank you IMG_20210919_110202589_HDR.jpg IMG_20210919_110202589_HDR.jpg IMG_20210919_110755988_HDR.jpg

I'm not seeing any doubling by those pictures just a normal cent.

A spender. I think you may be looking too hard. I think we all did that when we were bitten by the collecting bug.

yes we all have been there it's fun but very disappointing. it will soon pass and you'll grow wiser and know what to look for and soon be digging through Flea mkt boxes like a pro. Give yourself time to learn, and welcome to Coin talk

For the mark between L & I (LII), I don't see one listed for a 1970D on the cuds on coins site:
    http://cuds-on-coins.com/lincoln-cent-bies/
but the website's a great place to look if you need a reference for a liberty chip.

    Good hunting!
