I always find these counter-stamped coins interesting. Just wanted to share. :)

Our local coin dealer has several of them on display. Crosses, angels, Kennedy cut out, peace sign, and many others. They are interesting but in the end there still damaged, but fun, In my opinion. Thanks for sharing.

With the advent of laser tools, it became a novelty item and I've seen several different types.

Is your coin plated zinc ? I have found a few of the zinc ones. I have yet to find a copper alloy one.

I've seen these before at local Christian bookstores usually accompanying a book Mark or card with a prayer on it

I know a preacher who is part of a Dallas motorcycle club and he hands out pennies with a cross cut out of them.

I haven't seen any that were laser cut. All the ones I have seen were the result of a punch press. Notice around the edges of the hole on the one above the metal curves downward into the hole (especially at the top of the wings). That is characteristic of the metal being punched out.

What is the date of your coin? (never mind its zinc.)

I don't see the date on it, it was punched out with the angel.
