So the Mint has figured out how to keep low mintage, desirable items on sale longer. Make the site crash more.
It's a well-known tactic in the computer industry. Crash so hard that nobody can get into the system, and they'll stop complaining about all the little annoyances -- because they can't get to them.
I tried for just over an hour. I was sure I would be shut out completely. Got to the "your order is processing" stage five times and was kicked out with an error page. Finally at an hour and four minutes my sale went through and I received the order achknowledgement. I was ready for a disappointment and oh so thrilled when I got one. I (should say my husband) am a collector only. My husband takes his collection out about once a month and spreads everything on the table like Scrooge McDuck. I don't get it, but he used to be a golfer and this hobby is way less expensive.
Just wait, it will come. At least with coins you'll eventually get some of the spent money back (if you are lucky even more than you put in.). That doesn't really happen with golf unless you are good enough to go pro.
