Yup.....I got very lucky and found it in an uncleaned lot of fourteen coins (that I payed $15 for) Still can't tell if it's a fouree, and it is a really junky one, but it is still Julius Caesar! stainless
Pm sent on one of the coins. but other than the one I am PMing you about: Rome Commemorative Constantine the Great era (x9) Tetricus Barbarious Constantine Barbarious most of these are already gone to people though..lol, I just wanted the Commem and this one was a suprise for me, I thought it was nothing when I first saw it! stainless
So, here is what I found after researching a bit. The style is correct, and very close to the ones on vcoins, so it is not a fouree. the silver has been leached out which explains the weight loss wierd colored silver. I tried to clean it, but I'll leave it as is, When I use the silver cleaner it gets all dark, then I have to use water and a toothbruch just to see silver again (which is another reason why i know it has to be real and of silver). So..that means, I got a Julius Caesar coin for $1! I like that price! stainless
I was told to just leave it alone. The way it looks now is still pretty natural and acceptable, and if I cleaned it it may look off (and who know what is under the black toning, could be oxidation and pitting). I still may try to open up the hole a bit more though, there is still a lot of dirt in there. stainless
