Here's a fun big/little coin/mystery snack that I bought from the new auction house Dara over the weekend.
It's got a smidgen of readable lettering 12 o'clock on the reverse. But what's it say and who is it?

Roman Provincial Coins, Ae used as coin weight !
    Weight: 14.4 gr

Ideas and guesses are welcome and appreciated

I can make out "E. Chees", yes, it's a Chuck E. Cheese token for a free individual pizza, sliced in forths. :D ...& could it be Chuck's huge ears?...I think so...:joyful:...but I hear they serve beer...:p

My guess: a riddle wrapped in a mystery inside an enigma, lost in the mists of time.

I bought something in that auction as well (not a coin). The invoice was payable to an address in the United Arab Emirates. Could it be Zurqieh of VCoins, I wonder?
I believe he operates from there. There can't be that many dealers in UAE. The language he used to describe the lots is definitely reminiscent of his style.

Ehh, nuts! I saw you nailed a tricky coin earlier and got excited when I saw you replied:shame:
I'd noticed the interesting local of the seller as well. But don't think it's Zurqieh as the none of the coins looked like this:

I don’t think that this is Zurqieh . I won about 10 lots in this Dara auction and am not yet sure if I made the right decision to take part in this auction. I’m I paid the invoice an hour after receiving on September 4th. I sent an email to ask why my invoice is still not paid four days later and received a response from Jesús Brandares that Paypal is withholding payment until they upload a shipping label to make sure the package has been shipped. The payment status has been updated to paid on September 10, but at the moment there is no information that the package has been sent……….

It did take them a bit to ship, but currently mine is listed by fedex as in transit, currently in Dubai. I'll let you know when I receive the package...

I don’t have anything to contribute as to what the undertype might be, but that is a very cool item. I’ve never seen a coin weight like that. Nice find.

Hey hey! Have some beers and have no fears. My Dara package just arrived... and in style I might say.

And this thing is a real doozy in hand! This guy might have a radiate bust. I'll have to look closer when time allows but wanted you not to worry :)

Interesting scale weight. It is either a half uncia commercial weight or 3 Nomismata = 3 Solidi coin weight, nominal weight = 13.6 grams. A couple of smaller Provincial coins turned into weights -

I bought two weights from the auction. My order status changed today to -
    New status: Goods dispatched
I wondered about buying from another new to me seller, but the items looked ok, so I bid. I googled - Dubai UAE Dara Antiques Museum - and did not have any exact hits. I did find - Antique Museum Dubai. It looks BIG.

My package from DARA arrived today. At a glance I was worried something was missing. The black bag was sticking out. The other 3 packages were in the bag, whew! It looks like a dog chewed on the plastic FEDEX shipping pack.
I will write up the contents in a bit.
