It sure is funky looking... It could be natural... but you can tell the pics were taken at an extreme angle... and I bet it looks nothing like that in hand.
Could you elaborate? I see some spotiness, what could be some lower rim problems. Originally I thought it was die polish lines, but they go across the 1971 which makes me wonder.
Because the lines, even if they are die polish lines and I have my doubts on that - make it ugly as sin. As for the toning, my thoughts are it was caused by heat.
Its probably NT and from a Dansco album. I have others like this and its going to look different in hand. More luster in the center and you wont be able to see the lines and the toning wont be as dark... Head on it will probably look closer to this...
I also believe it to be NT. I don't really like toned Ikes - of course, I don't like Ike's to begin with. Shane over on the NGC boards showed me one of the wildest Ike's I've ever seen, with psychedelic multicolored rainbow toning that only Picasso could have dreamed up.
From what I have learned since Friday  I would say, definitely NT. Not only because the color sequence of the toning is characteristic of NT coins (yellow, red , blue and then green), but if it was AT, the polish lines would be covered up with the toning agent. -LTB
