This came out of the coin machine reject bin on Friday along with a bunch of foreign coins. At first I thought it was a blank cent planchet but upon further inspection, I don't think it can be. It is about the diameter of a dime and weighs less than a zincoln.
I was thinking that it may be a foreign planchet since it was with a bunch of foreign coins. So far I haven't found a match so I figured I'd reach out and see what you all think. Thanks for looking!

Is the surface slightly concave? It looks like it to me. If so then I don't think it's a planchet, it might be something else. There's a couple of nice Swedish coins and a great Icelandic coin in that bunch. Good finds!

Looks like a blank planchet of some kind to me

No it's flat. I think it looks like that because of the lighter color of the metal around the circle.

There are some nice coins in the bunch. I was pretty happy :) This is the same machine that gave me my ancient Roman coin a few months ago. Good stuff.

Yeah. I'm guessing foreign but can't nail down one of the size.

What comes to mind to me is a Canadian cent the weight is within the range most likely not modern though if that heavy.

Can you get a pic of the edge?

3rd pic isn't good? It's flat. Not upended like it went through the machine.

I do not believe that it is a coin planchet but something else.

    :)

Derp, yep, that's perfectly fine. I'm drawing a complete blank, though.

The weight is good. Do you think the diameter would change once the coin was sent through the upsetting mill?
1c Euro is 16.25mm and this one is 17.8/9mm that's a bit over a millimeter and change.
@expat - you deal with Euros on the daily. What do you think? :)

expat Remember you are unique, just like everyone else

I would think there would be a subtle difference in the diameter after producing the raised rim, as the blank is squeezed to raise the rim. Weight and color look ok, but how you could ascertain what it actually is, sorry I have no idea

Yeah this is a good coin machine for that. It's my dump bank's machine and they hold all the rejects for my son and I.
