New Coin - 1798 Large Cent, 2nd Hair Style, PCGS VF-35

    1798 Large Cent, 2nd Hair Style, PCGS VF-35, Rarity-2
    An addition to my EAC collection.
    I ID'ed the variety as an S-185 (I think I got it right).
    Identifying the variety is not trivial, particularly since this is only a VF-35.
    Lots of the key features have been reduced or eliminated by this level.

    Is it VF35 details, environmental damage because of the discoloration? Or did they straight grade it?

    Nice cent,not surprised they take it easy on these its pretty nice for being 200+ years old.
