Hello everyone, On August 31st I announced on the For Sale forum that I listed 7 lots of US Silver coins for auction. They were old Constitutional Coins I had stashed away for decades. None are my metal detected silver. These were the results.. Total of $325.00 plus sellers paid S/H Did I do well? The last lot was the lowest amount. Comments are welcome. Even if I deserve a lashing
You did fine, its about $25 per $1 face value of silver. Looks like most of your lots are over $50. Only one you didn't do very well on is the last one. More than a $1 face value but only sold for $20.
I have a problem referring to these kinds of coins a "junk". But, it is the common label these days. They would fit in perfect with my collection. Nice exchange though.
I really do not enjoy complimenting this digger, but in all honesty, I have to say, paddyman, you did well. Bah-Hum-Bug
In my own recent research it seems that somewhere between 22-25x face is what these are selling for right now.
You could have gotten more if you worded your offerings like some of the sleaze bags on eBay and Etsy. "Just discovered at an estate sale. These coins are 90% silver and highly sought after. Don't miss the chance to own these today." Or something like that. LOL
"They'll never be made again . . . !" "Last remaining stock . . . . " "Leave an heirloom for your kids . . . . "
I had hunch they were not the real deal which is why I didn't take a shot. You should've put paddyman98's metal detected silverthat would be an interesting result.
Somehow constitutional sounds curious when describing coins. When I hear "constitutional" I think of "taking a constitutional" which of course has a meaning not so quite appropriate for this forum.
