I've read about those, @Chris B, but I've never seen one. Nice!

Still in Russia but almost two hundred years later with this USSR ruble dated 1961.

I am in no way being persnickety, @Muzyck - what on that there coins says 1780, or it's equivalent. Please educate me. Just so you know, I'm not a total lazy bum; I looked for a 1780 under India, Kingdom of Assam, in Numista. I could not make heads or tails. Then the laziness rolled in like a tsunami. Why spin my wheels this evening when I can ask Muzyck? So here we are.

I'll follow coin_nut's Zeeland/Netherlands with this lovely 10 gulden, 1875. Lovely, yes? I rather like it. I feel like I'm nearly in panzerman's league when I can pull something like that out.

Numista is useless when doing any research on Assam. I just went to that site to check on an item this morning on Ebay that is not dated. Very little info there. Check Zeno or KM for more. Zeno covers 1648-1824. I had it tagged as KM207 issued in the first regnal year of Gaurinatha Simha (1780-1795 AD). There is a "1" below the legend that is partially missing. At least that is how I identified at the time of purchase. It was also tagged with that id from a trusted seller that I buy from located in Vancouver, Canada.

Thanks, Muzyck! I need to remember to hit Zeno.ru when I'm researching; I believe coin_nut has touted them a number of times here or elsewhere. There! Sticky on monitor - "Zeno.ru."

When you say KM, you're talking the catalog - the hard copy phone book sized catalog? Or somewhere online?

Still in Denmark with this 1968 ten kroner. It commemorates Frederick's second daughter's wedding.
