In the early 1990s, I started buying coins from Teletrade auctions which was done by phone, and I remember the listing was in a Coin World magazine as there was no internet as such. NGC graded the coins. Many I removed from the cheap vinyl flips after hearing a lot about PVC damage and archived them. This coin , a 1923 Peace ( not rare or expensive by any means) and decided to I decided to post it. After about 5 posts, I will show the grade. It is still sealed in the flip/ Jim
MS 62 ....I don't see wear and the longer cheek hit would likely prevent anything higher at that time
Back in the day, I won a few coins through Teletrade. Tell me, what's this arrow pointing to? Is that spot raised on the field's surface? Oh yeah, I'll go with MS 61.
I think it is just an artifact from the coin being in a vinyl holder and a reflection of the light source. Using a loupe , I do not see anything that stands out there. Jim
Well when 4 out of 6 got it, that really good. I was a little suprised . You could have been graders back then : ) and yes I agree the marks on the cheek and those on the eagle's neck and shoulders are dramatic. Jim
