    Whenever someone posts an interesting coin I have to search through mine. I had 10 1940 S Jefferson's in a tube with all early S Mint Jeff's. I looked at the first one and found a lamination on the obverse and a die chip on the reverse. The die chip is at the spot where the die crack is on the VV coin.
    I still have to look closer at the others.

    ANACS and ICG attribute many, many, many, many more varieties than the big two. it's such a shame that the big two think some varieties are not important. I was told that one reason the big two will not do varieties that they consider too minor or unimportant is because "dumb :bucktooth: collectors would think they were valuable." It's nice to have the "big boys" decide these things for all of us dumb collectors. NOT!
