Here is a new coin I acquired within the last few weeks and just received today. Italian States (Parma) 1815 40 Lire NGC AU58 It's a nice size coin 26mm & .3733 oz AGW with a mintage of 220,000. The obverse is a little baggy marked but the reverse is really nice with great mint lustre. This coin is hard to find in this grade or higher. The bust is of Maria Luigia; Napoleon's second wife and the Empress of Austria. She reigned over the province and city of Parma in the nineteenth century and is responsible for much of the city's exquisite architecture.
Very impressive, I'm not familiar with that series and I'll have to keep an eye out, very nice and old. It seems to me with world coinage the older the better!!
