New $0.51 to the collection

    A nice pair! That half is better preserved than most from the teens. I think the rim ding by L on the obverse would keep it from grading cleanly, but it's a fine specimen for an album or an extended type set.

    I know, and I debated hard before pulling the "buy" trigger. This was the finest I could find in my budget, but had the rim ding. I found countless others in G without rim ding, but near same price point. So now I was at a point of trade off between a technical "detail" F grade or a G that would technically straight grade. After about 3 days deliberating I opted for the coin with the minor ding. It is just going in my album anyhow, so I think I can like it regardless. Thanks for the compliment!

    Yeah, I'd choose that coin any day over a straight G, even in a slab.
