Havent found much in circulation However I had my bank direct order all of them for me I am sitting on: 2 boxes of dimes 3 boxes of nickels 2 boxes of each LP cent 1 box of each quarter 1 box of each presidential and sacagawea Having connections is so great
I have them. had one more box of dimes but I ended up breaking it up and selling it over ebay. It was a huge profit.
I rarely use cash anymore so I don't get much change. Still, all I've managed this year is 2 of the cents (both D mint marks). Luckily I have proof and mint sets.
Here in Ohio, I have come acrosss the first 3 types of pennies (tons of them) and 1 D.C. Quarter...no dimes and nickels..anyone have extra's that they are willing to part?
That is a gold mine right there. I'd be flipping on Ebay so fast..... Made a killing on dimes earlier in the year, but couldn't find anymore. I have found all of the 2009 coins in circ except the last cent. Not a one of those.
From the sharpness of the strike on the reverse I suspect that that 2009-D nickel probably came from a mint set and just doesn't mention satin finish on the holder. Possibly the dies were wearing and the satin finish was wearing away. If I'm wrong we should start seeing more 2009-D's showing up on eBay shortly.
Actually happens almost every year. You hear people constantly saying no new coins appearing yet. Then all of a sudden, poof, there they are. Then we all start mentioning about the lack of the next years coins. Might be a little different now due to those 2009 cents though.
no different at the other end of the state, except i've seen 1 mariana in addition to what you've seen.
No 09 nickels or dimes here, I've even offered friends 2 bucks each. I ended up buying 7 dimes and 1 nickel from ebay. One seller has 5 P dimes for 5 bucks. I believe the mintage was under 50 million for the P dime.
If you took it out of the set and sent it in without identifying it as a satin finish on the invoice I would think they would probably not note it maybe 20 to 30% of the time. Remember the coins are unpacked and the data from the invoice are keyed into the computer by a STAFF member not a grader. And the grader only sees the coin in a flip with a barcode. They have no idea how it was entered into the computer. So if you don't identify it as a Satin Finish on the invoice, there is a fair chance that the data entry person will not key it into the computer as a satin finish, and the final label will not identify it as a satin finish.
Really no LP4? I have been fidning some in circulation taking them putting them aside. Will have my bank order me a couple boxes of the lp4. If they can still get the dimes and nickels I will take them as well.
Ed, don't expect the 2009 coins in your area anytime soon. A few of the covered wagons that were sent up your way either got stuck in the mud or were attacked and robbed by indians. It's your own fault for living so close the the North Pole. I suggest you take a piece of whale bone and carve yourself a 2009 coin. It's probably the only way you'll ever set your eyes on one. :goofer: You know I'm kidding 'cause I love ya Ed.
What kind of connections do you have? I have talked to countless tellers who have all told me that you can't order specific coins (like 2009) with the exception of the presidential dollars. My niece is a teller and told me the same thing. I don't understand how you can "order" things that banks cannot order....
Hey cerd I gotta go with Bobbeth on this one. I have some excellent relationships with bank managers, who have all checked and said they couldn't order '09 nickel and dimes.
