This actually looks like it was soaked in acetone too long.
There is literally zero skin on that coin.

I'll take your word for that, but I don't see it or have the expertise to see it. This coin is incuse so that affects it.

That seller is selling lots of toned coins. I actually bought a Kennedy half from them that was target toned. Straight graded although I'm sure it was AT. If you watch them long enough they sell some that got details too.

I've watched him. He is a scam artist through and through. No coin that you buy from him can be trusted to be anything OTHER than an artificially tones coin.

Oh I know. It amazes me they don't details all the coins though. Just some. Why some not others? Make no sense. I saw some of them sell for over a hundred on bidding wars. There's another id doing the same thing from the same town. I think they are actually together. I can't remember the other id name but it is the same thing. AT coins

This is one of several misjudged reasons I do not send coins to TPG's. My eye, my choice, my money. I am the judge! Thanks for the post.

At least he gets them graded.

The fact that your reasoning for questioning the NT/AT status of this coin is based solely on the seller completely undermines the credibility of your opinion.

The coin might be AT or might be NT. Your opinion on this should be based on the coin itself, not the seller.

FYI, while this seller may AT coins, he also buys already slabbed toned coins and resells them.

We can do both and when someone uses deceitful practices, that is reason enough that they should be removed from the marketplace.

No, we can't do both. The coin is the coin. It is either AT or NT regardless of who the seller is. Look at the coin and tell us why it is AT or NT.

Every coin is innocent until proven guilty. You're trying to convict using circumstantial evidence.

For example that is not a gassed coin. It is as PCGS saw it here is the true view.

for sure it was. He tried NCG and they detailed it. You can trust a con artist if you chose to, but he is still a con artist.

I don't care how it was done, that is one sexy Kennedy right there. I bought it knowing it was likely AT. If I ever sold it I would disclose that it was likely AT that passed the graders. But with truview like this and a straight grade on the slab it won't matter to most.

No - it looks like artificiality toned and destroyed coinage; post-mint damage. If you want colorful coins, try the Perth Mint. Forgeries of manipulated artifacts with faux finish designed to steal money from pigeons are not sexy, but ugly.

It's possible this toning came from the type of holder the coin has been stored in. Call it AT or NT, still a pretty coin.

You call it what you want. So, you know for a fact it was tried at NGC? Or, is that more speculation?
