I see the seal on these are much like the early "The Battleship Note" I know nothing of the History of these or the Value they may have.. I just liked them and the price was great.. They have no Date But " June 13 1922" I love the reverse on the Two..
Although these are dated 1922, that is the year of authorization not the year of issue. These are the Victory Series of Philippine pesos first issued in 1945. They came ashore with MacArthur and the US forces that liberated the Philippines.
Thanks.. Did I do OK at 5.00 for the set? They look to be in great shape.. I love the color.. Orange and Blue.. How Large of a Denomination do they come in? I might Like a Set.. The Font and General Design.. Love it.. I guess these are somewhat related to the US Silver Coin Pesos .. well I guess the ACT in '22 ? I need to find my coins to see the dates.. I do have a couple of the Japanese Pesos but didn't know about the US Bills.. Are they only the One year '45 or do they cont. for a few?.. Not sure how long MacArthur Lasted after he returned.. Or how long we remained there.. Thanks again, Now I can research more..
The series includes 1.00, 2.00, 5.00, 10.00, 20.00, 50.00, 100.00 and 500.00 peso notes. There are signature varieties for some of the denominations. This series was overprinted for use by the Philippine Central Bank after Philippine Independence was granted in 1946. The notes without the overprint remained valid for a short time after independence but they were eventually made obsolete. Similar notes were issued in the Philippines as far back as 1903. The silver peso coins are the equivalent to these notes just like US silver dollars were the equivalent of silver certificates. You did alright at $5.00 depending on the condition. The higher denominations will cost significantly more.

Wow, Those are great.. I have been looking at a 10.00 and a 5.00 .. I need to get the VICTORY set now,.. And from what I can see.. I May have to get The POST Victory Bills..
