Discolored Quarter

It’s is hard to get a good photo but I have a Delaware quarter that has a multitonal look to it. Could this be a cladding error or heat treatment error or nothing at all?

I also am seeing a lot of Massachusetts quarters that are pewter or yellowish colored.

It's a dirty clad quarter.

Not an error of any kind.

 

A heat treatment error? I'm not aware of heat being utilized in the modern day coin minting processes at the mint.

 

Environmental damage. Only worth twenty five cents. Not an error of any type.

 

I was referring to annealing. Not sure if that is done during the minting process.

 

Annealing is done to the planchets
before they are struck.


That's not what they are, however.

 

Looks like a urinal find to me.
