That depends on who you talk to, but I bet I win this one - at least based on the only arbiter we have and that is eBay. If eBay pulls it, he is right. If not I am right. However, I see no reason for eBay to pull it and he will not present his facts. Incidentally, they absolutely pull listings after they have closed both with and without bids.

The reason I picked for reporting him is "Misleading Title"
You don't have many choices to pick from.
I also asked seller the question "Have you ever seen a P minted 2008 cent with a mintmark?"
So far no answer back from seller.

He never answered my question either. Guess he's just a really busy guy....

I am curious. How is it misleading? Unless you know something I am missing, it does not have a "P" or any other mint mark. How can stating the obvious be misleading? Generally speaking, you can use just about any adjective to describe you listing (with some obvious exceptions) even what appear to be lies (best looking ever, very rare, etc.) and not violate any laws or regulations. Just listen to some of the commercials some day. Or, better yet, listen very closely. They make some very interesting comments and 99.99% of them are completely legal. An eBay listing is basically guided by the same laws, but some of the eBay regulations are interpreted more stringently. I see no way pointing out the obvious could be considered a problem.

If you think about it, there IS no 'P' on the coin, so he isn't mis-representing the coin one bit. No violations in the title OR description.

THIS about sums it all up (and one of the funnier things I've seen)!

I'd think even Barney would consider THIS case closed.

The truth. RLM is a respected member of this forum and you are a troll who is worried about the price of a 2008 cent on E-Bay. Get a life!

If you are so ambitious as to go after an ebay seller for these kind of actions, then why not do something that would at least actually benefit the hobby - go after the hucksters on TV.

THAT would be for the good of the hobby ;)

Just to report an auction you have to pick from a very limited list of reasons.
You can't specify your own reason.
I see what you are saying and do not disagree.
However, misleading title is a catchall category which was the best choice for continuing with the eBay format.
Continuing you then can describe in more detail why you are reporting.
I see the auction has ended

You can equate an ebay handle with SS# and other personal info? Wow, I'm stunned. I simply don't want this guy to have the ability to bid on my items, as he's obviously 'one of those' ebayers, and you take it that far? Harsh? I think not.

The original listing was for $45.99. What I don't understand is why anyone is either buying or selling 2008 lincoln cents and why anyone cares. These barely qualify as numismatic items. I can tolerate modern proofs and ASE's but this coin has no intrinsic value and no numismatic value IMO.

The only reason I even posted in this thread is because statequarters started to attack the character of anyone who didn't complete agree with his crusade against small time e-bay sellers of junk which should definitely fall under the category of "caveat emptor". Anyone dumb enough to pay $46 from a common coin minted 2 years ago with no intrisic value deserves to learn the lesson the hard way for $40 before their idiocy graduates and they start making hundred dollar or thousand dollar mistakes.

You are right. I am wrong.
I didn't think he would think it was a good idea either unless he was looking to win this years Darwin Award.

Did you read how last years winner got it?

While attempting to rob a place had his .38 misfire.

So he looked down the barrel and pulled the trigger again.

    SUCCESS!
