We already told you its not what you think and even isn't possible. How can a cent planchet fit into the chamber ment to strike dimes?simple,it can't.
I think you have it reversed. The OP is claiming a CENT DIE struck a DIME PLANCHET. Even so, it is not what is claimed
Normal weight for a cent. As stated you have a counterstamped cent, without seeing it I am assuming it is plated making it look silver.
I hope I did it! Still dont know why was it so difficult, end still dont know why would somebody plated end struck one penny.
Questions for you.. have you read any of the responses I have given you? Do you understand what I have shared with you? Your Cent is a plated novelty Cent! Or are you ignoring everything I have shared with you in the hopes that someone will tell you what you want to hear? Please respond
Simply and it’s been said a few times in the replies to this thread. It’s a NOVELTY! They made a lot more than 1 of them, literally thousands of them exist.
That was my point. The company that counter stamped them for the Bicentennial made them unplated and plated in order to increase the sales. A great marketing ploy of the times. I was 22 years so I remember it well.
Then why didn't they plate dimes to look like cents? Huh? Why? They woulda made Millions, Jerry! Millions, I tell ya!!!!
I was only 12 and my mother was learning to drive a car. I can still drive you to the exact spot where she cut the corner too close and scrapped the hubcap on our new car. That was 55 years ago. Lol
