I keep the 2019 Red book my self mate, but thank you. I have some greate albums I used earlier when I was collecting Norwegian coin. I sold the collection to start collecting US coins cos I think they are better looking. At least the modern one. (I did not sell the albums.) I really love the eagle coins. I have some silver coins amongst/in my collection, cos I buy when I find it to a good money. Buy some now and then in a US coin and bank note group I started on Facebook for Norwegians.
At this time, corn is harvested around the fields in my area and then I spend a lot of time on metal detecting. The coins are set aside a bit then, but still follow. Is most active with coins in the winter when its freezing cold like 30c below outside and a couple of meter of snow. So do not go to Norway at winter time if you hate snow and the cold lol. In fact, now and then we find US coin in the corn fields. A friend of mine has found 4 Indien head cents. I hav 39IHC in my collection and one flying eagle. Some of the holes in my book with them like 1877 cost a hoooole lot of money.I think also my 1 cent collection is good, even there is some holes. Will never get that one complete for sure.

Oh- for those who haven’t gone to the Contests forum lately, there are three different random drawing giveaways active as of this writing. And I also heard a rumor that another @Randy Abercrombie offering might also be coming before long, whenever he has the time to get the goodies together. ;)

I also wonder..... How many Americans do think they are in the UK ? =) I mean why is so many Americans say penny, and not cent? As a US coin collector and a metal detectorist from Norway, I see a loads of films on Youtube. And when showing a cent they say penny. Why ?

Oh, good. I wanted to make sure you had the Red Book. If you do not need the album I just ordered, I can always use it here. Someone is sending me the money to buy that but I can put his money towards the shipping costs of the other coins he and someone else are sending me to pass on to you.

You might as well send me your want list of Indian cents in a private message. There were a few common date ones from the late 1800s in that bag of Littleton wrapped coins I bought.

Metal detecting in Norway sounds very exciting! Have you found any medieval hammered coins? I finally made it over to go detecting in England in 2013 and found two pieces of hammered silver.

That is a holdover from when we were a British colony 245 years ago. “Penny” remained a part of the American English language, even after we started minting our own cents. People just kept calling it a penny, even after that became technically incorrect.

And now, ever since 1970, when the British switched to a decimal system, even their 1-pence coins are technically cents as well. (1/100 of a unit.) But I’m sure everyone still calls them pennies, just as we have done in the US for more than 200 years. It’s just tradition.

Not sure how to send PM here. So here is the missing indian cent and I am pretty sure most of them cost a lot of money. 1861, 1864, 1866-1872, 1876, 1877, 1878 and 1909S. A friend helped me with a lot of the head cents I got early in the beginning. Not found any medieval hammered coins but my friend found a 8 skilling from 1642. That is the oldest coin we got so far. And last year I foud this fibula from about year 550. That was a great moment to me. 15 min to midnight so time for bed now.

I'm not sure I can help you with any of those right now, unless I have some in the big bag of cull Indian cents I have (problem coins). The 1877 and 1909-S are expensive, of course.

The reason I suggested a private message is that we are supposed to keep want lists and sales and offers off the discussion boards and only on the Want Lists and For Sale forums.

I thought you knew how to do a private message because I had one from you before, where I got your address, but now I realize it was because you replied to the one I had sent when you won the giveaway.

If you ever need to start a new private message yourself, this is how. You click on your "Inbox" tab and then on the link that says "Start a New Conversation."

Re. metal detecting- that 1642 8-skilling is great! And your fibula is a fantastic find. Such a large one! I'll bet that gave off a very loud signal on the detector!

That one was fun. Even more fun than a lot of my coin giveaways. You see, I went out on a fossil hunt and promised in advance to give away my finds, before even going out and finding them.

So that giveaway thread was also a live adventure posted on the forum. I posted pictures of the hunt as it happened. And I did indeed end up finding some fossil shark teeth, which @Cheech9712 won.

I need to do another live-action adventure hunt/giveaway like that again someday. The fossil source is practically walking distance from my home. If anybody reads that thread and finds it interesting, and comes to Brunswick, Georgia, I can take you there.
