Here's a neighbourhood stray sniffing a British £500 coin I dropped on the pavement today. Share your pics of dogs and coins!

    Fess up, Andy,
You didn't 'drop' that massive coin on the pavement.
You placed it gently over a handful of Kibble & Bits!

Lucky it didn't land on him. It would've killed him.

Alas, I don't have any. Not even dogs on coins.

Please, feel free to drop a handful of these near my house anytime...;)

My few dogs/hounds. None in real life, cat person that I am. I've posted them all before, so I'll omit the descriptions this time.

Amazing. Does anyone know, from what time period, and from what geographical area of the Roman world, this brick is? Early Roman Republic? Late Roman Republic? Early Roman Empire? Late Roman Empire? Italy? Spain? Egypt? Turkey? Gaul? Africa?

When I originally saw this thread, I was resigned to the fact that I had no ancient dog coins. Last night looking through some recent purchases, I had a "duh" moment. Dog, cow and calf, and dramatically off-center:

    Illyria, Dyrrhachium Drachm
    Class D5 (57 B.C.)

    Zenon and Philodamos
ΞEN[ΩN], cow standing right, looking back at calf which it suckles, [eagle above], hound running right below / [ΔYP Φ]IΛO ΔA [MOY], double stellate pattern in square.

How does a guy with an anvil and die punch miss a coin that badly?
