Same PCGS number. It's up for sale again in an online auction that started on August 8th.

Someone won it on ebay and put it right back up for sale 5 days later in an online auction. Either that, or the buyer backed out and the coin was immediately consigned to another auction. The bottom picture is from the new auction venue.

I didn't just miss something, I missed everything.

Is this supposed to be a fake coin in a genuine holder, a fake holder with a genuine coin, a fake coin in a fake holder, a super rare coin that's marketed at a bargain price, a common coin offered at an exorbitant cost, an over-graded mess, an under-graded mess, or what?

I just thought it odd to see a coin sold on ebay being sold in another auction 5 days later. I had done a search on ebay for sold prices and came upon the same coin.

OK, thanks for explaining. Yes, 5 days seems a bit short but I don't think there's any shortage of frequent buy/sells for the same coin. If someone sees an opportunity for profit, or had some buyer's remorse it wouldn't be too unusual. And as you noted, there are other explanations.

Well, people buy on eBay with hopes of reselling for a profit.
Also, I know I've won coins on ebay that when I had it in hand I didn't particularly like. Not the sellers fault, so rather than return it and plead, "just didn't like it", I just tried to move it on and hope I didn't take a hit on price.

Oh, yes, this is quite common. I know that I've sold coins on ebay before, and within a week I saw it listed again.

It's really funny when it re-sells for a lower price than the middle-man paid for it (probably to whoever underbid him in the first place!)

Sometimes, if you buy with really bad pictures and get a good price, simply taking decent pictures will net you a profit. Or, a very popular seller might buy something from someone with no following, and then make a profit just based on his exposure.
