Well today we went to Mauitacos and when we got our change back, I was surprised. I saw TWO 2009 D Presidential Years Lincoln pennies... why is this strange? This is the FIRST time I seen 2009 lincoln pennies in circulation! Wow those things have luster! I also got a bicentennial quarter but it looked like someone dropped it on the cement... I see these all of the time though, not that much of a deal. I wonder why it took me so long to find these lincoln pennies in circulation... yet I found all but one of the quarters last year in circulation.
Just think of the millions of dollars people have spent on these. It won't be long until the streets are flooded with 'em...
The streets will not be flooded - until people let them go. A lot of people are hoarding them in my opinion. My local dealer even has problem getting 2009 coinage.
That does it. I'm turning this computer off and going out to get some food. I'm supposed to be on a diet but that just looks to inviting.
Collectors are holding on to these trying to drive up prices, Isnt that obvious!! But iam sure they dont have all of them.......LOL
Yea the food is good... I just got another 2009D penny (Presidential years). Strange how I keep getting the same ones...
I've been looking for those things for 2 months! Got one single coin from a guy who just got back from a trip to North Carolina. That's it though. And yes, they are being hoarded. Big time. I'm doing a little bit of that. The only ones to really hit circulation in my area were the 2nd and 3rd. The 1st is gone and the 2nd and 3rd are already getting hard to find. I'm movin' to Hawaii! At least it'll be warm all the time. Snow on the ground here (north ga) for 4 days and counting.
Two days ago picked up lunch just after this place opened, kinda dark, no customers yet, staff running around, you get the picture. Any way, in my change, I got a 1961 D dime. Looks good to! I can see the separation on the bands! [full band? still new to this coin collecting hobby]
Use to have a Del Taco right down the street in California! Now i have to Drive 3.5 hrs to Michigan to get my fix!!
Hmm, I've found all of them fairly commonly in circulation (Chicago area). Also - thank you, now I know I'm making steak fajitas for dinner tonight : )
