Guys can u recommend a reputable company that sells silver coins but will ship out of USA? Ive purchased few silver half dollars,silver eagles ,silver rounds and strategic stockpile etc but when i contact usa companies they dont ship out of states to downunder strange had reply today Arizona co CMI strong web site spot price etc but no shipping outside usa any recommendations for company appreciated:desk:
The companies might be afraid that they would be violating the prohibition on the export of US coins totaling more than $5 in face value. Although the law was designed to apply to one- and five-cent coins, some dealers apparently think that it applies to all US coins. Other dealers think that it's just too much trouble to try to ship coins, especially bulk coins, overseas. Living in Japan, I've run into that on occasion.
Another thing is many companies are leary of over seas transactions since so many end up being frauds. They send a check for more than the amount requested and come up with some odd story for you to send them the over amount and then their check bounces. Even some over seas cashiers checks and money orders are counterfeited so companies are really afraid to send anything out of the country lately. One thing you could try is hit Google for a list of coin dealers and just start sending them emails with such a request. Of course you could end up paying for something you to never really get since it may end up in the so called "Lost in the Mail"
I don't know of anyone that does this. Shipping insurance is too difficult/expensive to make the transaction worthwhile for either party. Can you not purchase silver in Australia?
It sounds like from your post that you're looking for silver bullion-type coins. When I was in the coin store/pawnshop last week, a buyer came in to get silver bullion and he was sold silver coins from Australia and a couple other countries. The owner said that they had more silver in them than American silver bullion coins.
