Same Person, Front & Back

While checking out this final, "Completer" coin in the Queen's Beast series, I noticed that the effigy of the Queen is on both the obverse and the reverse of the coin.



That made me wonder how many of the other coins I have, also show the same person (or personification) on both sides. Aside from the obvious Lincoln Memorial Cents, I didn't find much. Here are only four others that I got.

First ones that came to mind are the 2009 Lincoln Bicentennial issues. Two out of four show Lincoln on both sides.



And I nearly forgot the 2021 Washington Crossing the Delaware Quarter! I don't do any CRH, but I managed to get 2 so far in everyday change.



The only other one that I could find is a Smithsonian replica of Barber's Double Eagle design, which of course was rejected in favor of Saint-Gaudens' work. Had it been adopted, Barber's design would have had Lady Liberty on both sides.

Yeah, I looked it up on Numista. That's Queen Victoria on both sides.

EDIT: According to Numista, that's a 5-pound piece. But where is that denomination shown on the coin?

 

I was thinking of her "today" photos compared to the Churchill image . . . .

Technically every memorial cent has Lincoln front and back since hes in the monument

Although this is not exactly what OP is looking for, I keep thinking about full brockage error coins. Both sides showing the same person.

 

Probably some joke that Churchill was the one really running the country

 

There is the humour of mischief; an element of larrikinism.

 

For a long time British coins did not have denominations and I don't believe their gold coin have ever had denominations on them. Other than the 1799 farthing their copper coins didn't have denominations until 1860, the silver until 1831. And the largest silver coin, the crown not until 1928.

Another coin with the same person on both sides, South Dakota State Quarter. Mount Rushmore ATB quarter.

The Early Silver Commemoratives have a few with same person depicted on both sides (in date order of first appearance):

1) 1900 Lafayette Dollar (Reverse is a statue of Lafayette)


2) 1921 Missouri (Daniel Boone)


3) 1934-1938 Boone Bicentennial (We liked our Boone!)


4) 1936 Elgin (Illinois) Centennial (Same 'Pioneer' image used on obverse and reverse)

 

Thanks for sharing all those. I really like them. Reminds me of the look of turn of the century European or French medals.
