Congrats on the discovery! Only problem with the video is you call it an error. It's actually a variety.

thanks, @Collecting Nut @Mountain Man. i was told by someone. not to count on the discovery piece as the 3pg have been known to be wrong before and so has J.Wexler i don't get it 2 different experts"J.Wexler, ANACS" have said this is a new ddr but yet ppl still say they disagree with them... how? this photo is very good at showing notching at the bottom of the letters of J.F.M. am i missing something?

The only thing I can of that you’re missing is their stupidity.

I think it is because it is so difficult to discern true doubling from other types, which is why so many sites go out of their way to explain "Worthless DD." I can't identify them very well, so I don't even try. LOL

Could also be that people believe that the introduction of the single squeeze method for hubbing dies eradicated the doubled die. While, for the most part this is true, a small movement will not show on the larger devices, but on something small like the initials, can still be visible.

I just came across this and your new found error. Congratulations! I am curious though. All the references on Wexler and your posts are 2020-P, but the picture in this original post is a 2020-D. So, which is it? Denver or Philadelphia?

Just seeing this thread. Congrats on your discovery of a new variety.

Definitely a DDR with thickness and very light notching on the initials. I've made a few discoveries myself and a few of them were not easy to decide. Like you, sometimes the only way to put aside the doubts was to send it in.

The clad and nickles always give me fits since they seem to be ripe with MD and Die Deterioration.

The thickness and notching are difficult for some to see while others only want ones that are "easy" to see. We all like the easy ones but it is quite satisfying and reassuring when our suspicions are confirmed. It lets us know the hard work is sinking in.

Coneca still doesn't have one listed
Might want to send one there away

The more variety experts that list it, the better it will be ...

CONECA has a new system for getting varieties listed. Sort of a peer review before being invited to send it in. Go to the website for more info.

I'm not sure is it is strong enough of a DDR for them to list. I know that with their previous attributor/system it would have been TMTL (Too Minor To List)
