Picked this beauty up today from Charmy (the penny lady) at the 2010 FUN show. Has a beautiful blue tone to it, but I can't quite get all the colors from the reverse. The reverse has some gold, purple, and tons of blue on it. For now these photos will do. One of the 9's in the date has a small bit of gunk in it, but overall I like it. Tell me what you think. 1909VDB PCGS MS65BN
Looks nice, congrats!! I recently bought a similar looking 65BN VDB and I really like it. I also have a couple of 64BN VDBs that are pretty cool, but I'm still not giving up the RD and RB coppers
After about an hour of trying to capture better photos, this coin finally whopped up on me. This coin has so much more color than the photos lead you to believe. I didn't know copper was so hard to capture.
Not trying to hijack this thread, but I remembered that I had another PCGS MS65BN VDB too. This one isn't quite as colorful as the OP's coin or the other 65BN that I posted, but it was a nice bonus that the previous owner paid for a PCGS TrueView photo:
I never looked twice at them before I saw this guy. I'm starting to think they are growing on me. One of the reasons why I wanted to start a typeset collection is so that I could experience new items that I normally wouldn't purchase. I'm really enjoying the typeset collecting.
I remembered this thread about some very nice gem brown 1909 VDBs so I figured I'd add a photo I recently took of some of them I have in my collection:
