BTW, eBay finally woke up today. They removed nearly every one of the numbers I listed - especially including numismaticbureau's clocks etc.

I never buy rolls of anything on Ebay. I buy single coins and try to only bid what i truly believe what the coin is worth and what i can afford to lose. That being said you have to look at Ebay as an Auction House and nothing more. I bid and have fun with what money i choose to gamble with. If there is a higher grade coin I am seeking for my long term collection i will wait and buy it from my dealer or at a show where i can see it with my own eyes.:D

Okay... a while back (few weeks, a month maybe) there was a long thread here about a person who bought an "unsearched roll" that just happened to have a 14-D and a VDB (if I remember correctly) on the ends. Before this, I had never bother to look at any type of rolls on eBag, but since then I will often take a look to see what some people are trying to sell. Would I waste my money on something like this? Absolutely not. I am sure that I am far from the only person here (clear from previous posts) that looks at these things without having any intention of buying. I posted this because I thought that this seller carefully crafted his wording with the full intention of being deceptive, but not making is as obvious as most others do. Then, to have him become defensive when asked a simple question (one to which I already knew the answer). What truly amazes me is that most of these sellers have great feedback.

If you find a seller.. HOLD ON TIGHT!! They are harder and harder to find..

At least they are not $10000 for a roll of 1969-s. I remember seeing that on ebay before.

For a long time, I have tried to buy a bank bag of 1970-S BU lincolns from a very old timer. He and his wife bought these at a local, but long defunct bank in 1970. His eyes have gone beyond bad, and he really won't search through these. He won't sell, but he will let me go through them splitting any of value I find. He can't tell a large date from a small date, so I am going to take him up on it. He seems to remember buying them early in release, but not sure. I am not sure if there is much chance for any goodies, but it will be interesting. I can't rush him, but I will let all know if it comes to fruition. :).

    p.s. He also has a 1969S bag!!

Hey, get that 69-s bag open - that must be where all the DD's are!

Well I agree that his response was a bit on the snippy side, he probably gets asked often but still he doesn't have to turn punk on you. :D As far as his ad, yes it is deceptive, that said I have seen alot worse. His name is a clear clue, morecentsthansense

If there are DDs in it, I won't need my CT credits anymore! With my luck there might be so many, the price would drop overnight :) Yeah, right! I would be happy finding some small date 70-S or maybe a few MS68s. I will probably find it is the worst bag in the US, all MS60, spotted, large dates :) I really won't believe it until I see the bags.

"Now, who the h**l that is in their "right mind" would not bother glancing at each Cent as they load a roll of 1969-S? No one... period"

Sorry SJVM I plead Guilty. Back in my younger days in 1968 I got a bag of 68-s BU Lincolns and transferred them to plastic rolls. Did I look at all 5,000 Lincolns - nope. I think I still have them as I come across this heavy box every time I move from one house to another. Unfortunately time constraints prevent me from looking at them.

Think positive! :) If they're not there, no harm done. If they are there, slowly bring them to market.

Yeah, if it's not an OBW, one has to assume it's been searched - that's the rule!

I’ll tell you, some of the talk in here is disheartening, to say the least. When the argument gets down to, what can a dealer get away with by using deceptive language/pics/ads, as opposed to what should the dealer say and do ethically, it reminds me of what is wrong with the business culture in America/the world and what lay at the root of our recent economic collapse. I see things haven’t changed within the coin industry – having been in it for over 40 years, I found many honest dealers, but for the most part dealers are some of the greediest business persons out there, ready to take advantage of any that walk through their doors or into their websites, including children. Come on people (dealers) clean it up – an honest profit can still be made!

I would hope that he does get asked a lot. The man wants $0.40 each for coins that he may call "BU" but goes on to say that he cannot guarantee "perfect coins" and even says that there "may" be spotting, discoloration, etc. Even Red Book values them at only $0.35 in MS-65! I just looked at the listing again and he has sold 24 rolls...Unbelievable! Also, there is NO way that this guy did not make sure that he did not have "the big one" before he rolled them. Just as no one who knows ANYTHING about coins would sell bulk 1955's without looking, they sure would not sell a date/mint that has a DD that can be worth even more. I loved the excuse of how he has no desire to look because he does not have the "inclination, time, vision or knowledge necessary to classify the thousands of variations in lincoln cents". Sure.... we are talking about ONE coin that he knows D**N well about. Just for kicks, here is the second email he sent me. I do not know about everyone else, but it sure makes me want to buy from him. ENJOY!!

Your implying trickery or deceipt. You only know I use nf string wrappers because I told you in response to your question. It's not in the listing nor is it visible in the photograph. I go to the xtra expense and labor so roll collectors can have a nice item to put in their box sets instead of the junk that I receive when I buy rolls on ebay...usually arriving busted with loose coins in the package.
I have every lincoln memorial roll listed, check them out. More than half my listings are for "OBW", UNOPENED AND UNSEARCHED" rolls.
This listing for 69-S rolls are not. In a few short words, one paragraph, they are described precisely. The photograph and listing are 100% accurate.
Once a week or so, I list 69-S OBW rolls in my store. Usually 4 or 5 at a time as I find them. They usually last less than 24 hours. I'll be digging through stock for more as time permits and should have more obw rolls listed by the end of the week.

    ENJOY!!

I got these from the mint myself I assume they didn't search them at least I hope not! Some errors in the 09s have been showing up. Some day I may crack them open and take a look
