After watching the PCGS counterfeit detection video on gold coins, I have to believe the coin is fake. https://www.ebay.com/itm/393465423857?hash=item5b9c5de7f1:g:YNwAAOSwLplg~lRN The "T" and "D" in United on the left reverse, the gouges & scratches in planchette, the ugliness of the eagle head that looks like a skull, the poorly struck body, and on the obverse it looks like its a gold plated coin that has worn off the high spots, no luster, highly porous finish; it was never meant for circulation and I looks like it was. And look at the "S" to the right of the date, not straight, parallel lines. What say you?
Not familiar enough with the issue to say. The bar code on the slab does check out; a lot of fakes don't. I can imagine those light spots being toning breaks.
Here's an MS65 example. It's hard to believe the OP coin is MS64. The mint mark position seems a bit different between the two.
Your eagle is so much nicer, has different location for mint mark and looks like an eagles head. While the one I listed is graded, I have to believe its fake... thanks
