I thought I would take pictures of my LWC collection. All of these were found in circulation by me. Or, some I traded for during our regular swap meets. We had a group of school age kids that were all coin collectors. We would meet regularly and trade. We never did it for money - just helping each other.

Matches up pretty well with my Whitman 1+2 that I worked
on in the late sixties. Some of mine I bought at the LCS back
    then.

Looking good!!! Almost complete! Will you try to buy the missing coins so you have a complete set? I'm working on my second set now! Have a long way to go! LOL

No, I will keep it as found. I could fill in most of my sets if I cared to. But, I can always say I found them in circulation. To me that is being more of a collector. I appreciate the way others fill sets. All of my 20th Century sets are from circulation. Show us your second set some time.

Those are the ones I have individual photos of. Mostly they are very nice examples that I have posted on CT.

I just wish they would take the 1922 Plain out of albums like they did the 55 & 72 doubled dies. Nice show & tell collection.

Nice HONEST collection. I mean honest in that you mostly filled it from pocket change over the years. I like that.

My hat is off to you @Inspector43 ….. I put my little Whitman book together much the same as you back in the day. Maybe ten years ago I felt it was finally time to plug those dozen difficult holes. I almost wish I would have kept that folder like yours now. Just seems more honest.

Thank you. I did have the advantage of supply. It wasn't until the mid 60's that earlier coins started to disappear from circulation.

Thanks Randy. There ae some great collections out there put together by people who never had to reach in their pocket for a coin. We do what turns us on. Technically, I did buy some if you consider bartering with friends at our swap meets. I might have had to trade three of this for one of those. It was all part of the drive.

Oh I get that. There was a tiny coin shop between my house and my school. Wasn’t a day I would walk home and not walk in that mans door. I know that I had to be a pain for him but I suppose he liked me and helped me spend my lunch money each day. His wheat cent jug (two for a nickel as I recall) was where many of those holes in my little book were filled.

A great looking collection. Time to fill those holes but I think you’ll have to buy them to do it.

Put a set of Franklin 'halves' together (out of circulation) when I was a kid. Never felt the need to expand to a 'mint state' set.......:) 'Old School' collecting at its' best. :)

We would like to see it if you still have it. I put one together out of change. Still have it. Some real nice, some a little worn. To me the eye appeal and search is all I care about.

Hard to show it. Have them all in 2x2 flips and in a 3 ring binder. A lot of page turning and picture taking LOL

@Inspector43 I love the completeness along with the incompleteness of your bona fide honest set. I'm missing more than you are from my set.

I did complete the honest circulation, well worn silver Roosevelt dime set. I stopped that one when the mint ruined the composition of the dime.
