Looks like a Chinese Ching dynasty coin.
    Yongzheng era, 1722-1735 AD.

I see coins like that on eBay, but have no idea how to tell if they're real. Prices suggest they're not.

You are right. I think I looked at the Calgary Coin website, which uses "Ching" instead of "Qing". Same.

I think so. One the other hand, I recall reading somewhere that coins minted during the Yongzheng era (i.e. the OP coin) is comparatively rare among all other Qing emperors.

It would seem so. Ancient Chinese coin hoards have been found in large numbers and individual hoards are sometimes measured not by number of coins, but in kilograms and even tons.

This is a picture of a hoard of Northern Song coins from the 10th century. It contained some 3 tons of coins

Another (?) hoard containing 1000 year old coins weighed over 5 tons:

I didn't read the details, but this hoard seemed to have contained some 10 tons of 2000 year old coins:

I would expect if 2 million coins come to the market, individual coins would only be worth a few dollars, despite being more than 2000 years old:
