What another goat roping event today for the pre-order of the 2021 Morgan Dollars. I wanted one just for my collection. I actually was able to order one (at least I got an order confirmation back). The website dumped me out of the purchase no fewer than 4 times before I was able to get the order to process. I was fully expecting to be completely locked out. The website did "crash" at least once while I was on the site. Now the US Mint site has me locked out of my account temporarily. I guess we will see if I really do get one.

  3. I got my order in for one S and one D at 12:06. There were just a few hiccups along the way but not too bad. TC

I had the US Mint site crash on me like 20 times every time I tried to enter my credit card information and proceed.

Fortunately I eventually managed to get 3 of each the D & S Mint.

Last time with the O & CC Mint I only ordered 1 of each because I wanted to give others a chance to get one but then afterwards I saw hundreds of them on EBay being resold so this time I got 3 of each.

However my credit card did get charged the full $514.95 even though with my CC & O purchase it only charged the $4.95 shipping so you should check if your credit card got charged as well. If so you likely got your order through.

2 bad gateway errors before 12:03, 12:04 sent me to final review of order then locked me out after hitting place order, what a joke, so glad they fixed the errors of the past lol, just closed my account of many years and deleted all saved cards, no problem doing that lol I will never purchase from the mint again, ever!

Yup they were both sold out by 9:20 PST according to what I saw.

20 minutes is ridiculously fast to sell out when you consider the 3 coin per household limit.

The CC & O mintmarks sold out a little bit faster but that was with a limit of 10 per household.

Who wants a fake Morgan Dollar. If you want an Anniversary Morgan Dollar, but a 1921 in MS grade.

I got 1 of each. Used the snipping tool to print my receipt to save time and a potential for a crash or gateway error. Used 2 separate transactions as well. Got the order acknowledgement email on the S mint already. Will check the credit card next to see if both transactions went thru.

And YES both $89.95 charges pending.

I had no luck, the big boys must have figured a way to beat the mint.
    I'm not surprised.

Got two of each. Had to confirm order about 15 times before it actually went through and I got the confirmation email.

Bank shows two transactions - I think that is just bank processing - they aren't going to let me buy 4 of each!

I don’t think so. I’m not a big boy by any means and I still got my order through.

I think it’s all about luck. I had the site crash on me over a dozen times but eventually I got lucky and my order went through.

The Mint did a much better job this time than they did with the CC and O privy marks.

At least it didn’t straight up ban me from the site.

One trick I did was I used my phone to repeatedly refresh so I knew when they were available and then I switched to my computer to place the order so I didn’t have problems for refreshing so many times.

I quit collecting US Mint commemoratives about 3 years ago. I consider these to be commemoratives, therefore, I will not collect them.

Yeah with the issues with the mint site I got the S mint first and made sure that transaction went thru. Did it in like 6 or 7 minutes. Then went back to see if I could get the D mint and it was still available. I am not worried about the extra $4.95.

What did you have to do?

I didn’t have any Captcha things or anything but I did have to enter my credit card info about 2 dozen times. o_O
