Hello and Welcome !! All I see is a ding to Washington's head and some staining that's about all . PMD or Post Mint Damage .
You've been doing this a lot longer than I have, but I see a lamination error...guessing it's my lack of experience? How can you tell it's stain...teach me Master Sal!
How can you tell that from the pic? I know you've done this for decades but I haven't and I want you to teach me how you can tell the difference just by looking at the pic, please...
To me it almost seems like the front of the coin has been lacquered or coated with a clear nail polish which is beginning to wear/peel off on those patches. I guess it depends if the spots are incuse (lacquer peeling off) or raised (adhesive) or completely flat (stain/toning). I expect a nice acetone soak would answer a lot of questions here.
Well try the acetone bath.. It won't hurt to do so. But that's no mint error that I know of. Mr. Ed Specializing in collecting Mint Error since 1986.
Ok hes in there im curious to see what happens i thought the same but the feel throws me off. Thank you.
