"Specifically, the U.S. Mint will offer:
➤ 200,000 of the last production run of the 2021 American Eagle, Reverse of 1986 design silver bullion coins.
➤ 200,000 of the first production run of the enhanced redesigned 2021 American Eagle, Reverse of 2021 silver bullion coins,
➤ 15,000 of the last production run of the Reverse of 1986 design gold 1-ounce $50 bullion coins.
➤ 15,000 of the first production run of the enhanced redesigned Reverse of 2021 gold 1-ounce $50 bullion coins.

Presumably, the major grading services will offer the authorized purchasers special labels identifying the coins as being from the last and first production runs.

These U.S. Mint bullion coins will not be offered directly to the public. Instead, the authorized purchasers will be offered the coins like all other bullion coins, which they can then resell at a premium to other dealers, collectors and investors."

The mint stinks like 3 day old fish.......... devil.gif

The mint smells worse than that, my friend.

A Sumatran corpse flower might be a more apt comparison when describing the U.S. Mint.

So, when are "we the collectors" going to tell the mint and the big dealers to shove it? The US Mint playing favoritism and manufacturing more rare coins. They only get away with it because we let them.

    An innovative dingbat idea.

There is a equal to it, though. A DD had a Grand Opening today. A drive thru mini DD. Register for a full year of free coffee, no purchase necessary. In a very small strip mall shopping center with the only grocery store in 10 miles, and a pharmacy and a gently used furniture store and a dry cleaners, and a carry out Dominos. It sits on a single lane each way road. The traffic was backed up 2 miles, everybody throwing tantrums. Did I mention that it is the only road to link up with the hospital access and the local fire dept.? This went on for 3-1/2 hours.

    The town has 2 officers.

full disclosure: I don't drink coffee, so I passed on the chance. I am doing the same thing on the Mint scheme.

How not to have a Grand Opening.

Jed and Jethro would probably disagree they are listening, but they have down home common sense.

Since you have Elle Mae as part of your ID, I didn't want to intrude on covered territory. Thus, I filled out the family, excepting Granny, because she never knows what is going on.

If the People want it to change, all they will have to do is to boycott the authorized purchasers and their special label coins just one year and it would be over. The trouble is unfortunately the "collectors" the authorized purchasers target would sell their relatives to have the privilege of acquiring for resell coins others can not readily acquire. Maybe throw in some doctored dies for specific coinage errors and bigger bucks. Most numismatists are being told ( well each can fill in their favorite epitaph ) by the cartel . IMO, Jim

The mint, the dealers and the TPG's are desperately trying to fabricate more value to a bullion coin. Did the early bullion coins get First Strike or other special labels? The mint had to be planning this in order to set back 200,000 coins from the first and last runs. It just smells fraud.

There are a certain number of collectors that thrive on flipping. They will buy them regardless. This is seen as a chance to make some money. The dealers and the mint know this and don't care what a few collectors like us have to say. Boycott these and let the "authorized purchasers" eat them. I certainly will and I will urge all my friends and relatives to do the same.

No bullion coin is offered directly to the public so not surprising. Tip of the hat to the mint for making exciting stuff

There are a lot of 2021 Type 2 bullion coins out there in First Strike slabs. These would have been sent in by the Authorized Dealers. Can they really say these are First Strike when the mint is holding 200,000 from the first production run? If you have a bullion First Strike you should challenge the person who sold it to you.

Never bought into that dribble. For that matter, I never bought into the concept of graded bullion. Why? So fatso's can make money off of less informed (stupid?) collectors........

It's also possible they didn't and are just saying they are. How would anyone prove they weren't?

Why? Challenge them on what? All First Strike means is that it got to the TPG in the first thirty days. It has no relationship to when the coins were actually struck.

You are correct, there are a lot of people participating in the scam to make people think they are getting coins struck by the newest of dies.

A scam would require a deception of some sort. The TPGs are clear as to what their designation means.

If someone is still dumb enough to think that the coins are the first struck off of the dies, then that is their shortcoming and not any deception at all.
