    I love this thread.

I'm sure not everyone here Had a Granny and if they had would she want you to go through her stuff.

Other's may have wanted a Granny they knew so they had to make them up.

Mine left me (& my Kin) "Stuff".

Some handmade or from other Kin. Goose Down bolsters, furniture: A bit of property here and there.

Some food gathering/perpetration advice and how to keep the gun safe proper and the jewels cleaned. Best ways to use all the hog.

My favorite was a hank of tobacco wrapped in a paper note presented on the occasion of a hanging to the Judge (Great Great Gramps) with ideas of Justice Done and a continued republic with Justice for all.

    Nothing complicated.

Just when you thought you'd gotten enough of these stories for the holidays...

Salvation Army left short of cash by fake SC check

"The Salvation Army thought it had received a grand gift ahead of Christmas — a $25,000 check. But the donation turned out to be an expensive hoax that may force the charity to cut back on winter assistance for the needy."

""People say why don't you check every check? We have old ladies who send us a dollar and we're talking at this time of year we have anywhere from 500 to 1,000 checks coming in a week," she said.

Coin collection in donated desk is returned

"A coin collection that was found in a desk donated to St. Vincent de Paul has been returned to its owner." [4.21.2010]

    ...

"Roberts, who doesn't know the value of the coins, said they belonged to his father, who died in 1984. While not a coin collector, he said his father picked up coins as a hobby. Many of them were at least 60 years old and silver, and the stash included some foreign money."

    ...

"Last August, $10,000 was found stuffed in a projector at the Lynnwood St. Vincent store. The store didn't know who dropped off the projector but made a public appeal and the owner was found."

:desk: This smiley has a desk...
