You have to wonder what was holding that obv together? It pretty much had to be the anvil die and the collar was keeping the pieces from falling away.

That die was holding together with bailing wire and a prayer. Cool token.

 

The amazing thing about the token in the OP is that the die held together long enough to make so many pieces. That is nothing rare about it all. It’s probably an R-2.

it was listed for 139 with a best offer option I got it for 80.00 seemed fair . On ebay some are A lot more than I paid and a few are less but seemed like this one was A lot nicer than the lower priced ones.

 

yes there are a few on ebay with varying degrees of clashing and breaks . Still quite cool like you said . It is amazing that that it held together so long. I am glad I got one. It will make a cool conversation item.

Your CWT is absolutely FANTASTIC! I'd have leaped at the chance to buy that one. Only detriment: I'd love to see a better-focused image of that shattered obverse. Your 2nd rev pic shows the great clash wonderfully -- but at the cost of lost color.

 

This would actually be a neat token to collect by die stage. It went through a lot of stages from the new dies through the near terminal one the OP shows.
